Edmonton Branch
Dan Good
President and Advisor - Edmonton Dan was born and raised in Alberta and learned from an early age the virtue of saving money. He comes from a family with 7 children and is thankful that he was able to attend and graduate from the University of Alberta in 1980 with a degree in Commerce. His investing experience began in September of 1981 when he was compelled to take advantage of high interest rates, but was misguided by an “advisor” into equities and a 1 year term deposit at 20% when a bond fund was more appropriate. He soon after became licensed and earned the nick name “Dan Bond” when he invested the majority of his client’s assets in bond funds up until 1994. When interest rates became quite low his focus for clients then changed to funds that relied on the deep discount value method and was at one time the top shareholder of Cundill funds. His firm now manages in excess of $200 million in client’s assets. Mutual funds are sold through D.W. Good. |
Michael Good
Financial Advisor - Edmonton Michael was born in Edmonton and raised on investment strategies and concepts that were part of the family conversation growing up. In 2011, Michael began his career with DW Good Investments while studying Economics and Mathematics at the University of Alberta. He developed his organizational skills while learning hands on the requirements of various industry regulatory bodies. Today he focuses on developing individual and family client wealth. He is dedicated to the concept of growth at a reasonable price. The current low interest rate environment challenges advisors to provide both growth and safety for their clients. Michael’s approach is to balance a portfolio taking advantage of undervalued equity mutual funds, and through diversification of domestic and international markets adding speciality funds based on a client’s individual needs. It’s important to Michael that he, as an independent mutual fund advisor, can access a very broad range of mutual funds to benefit his clients. Personally, Michael enjoys time with his lady and his puppy; he plays hockey in the winter and baseball in the summer with old friends and the new team members he meets each year. He has travelled extensively and loves the opportunity to see new places and cultures. Mutual funds are sold through DW Good Investments. |
Brian Esler

Prior to working in the financial industry, he ran a small business and worked as an economist. He helps clients with investments, insurance, financial strategies and corporate planning. Brian enjoys the challenge of helping people reach their financial goals and dreams, and sees the challenge as a financial puzzle that can be solved in different ways. He is always looking to find better value for clients in their investments and insurance, build their wealth and protect their assets. Mutual funds are sold through D.W. Good. Brian is especially passionate helping eligible clients with the Registered Disability Savings Plans (RDSP's). Through this program the Canadian Government will contribute up to $90,000 to a RDSP for an eligible person. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Economics, both from the University of Alberta. Brian’s previous experience as a small business owner and economist is a tremendous asset when working with his clients, whether they are individuals, families or business owners. |
